Jake and Santa

We took Jake to meet Santa the other day. He was a perfect angel and even posed for them camera. He is growing up so fast I can't believe he is 3 months old now. My little stocking stuffer.

2 Month Appointment

I just realized that I didn't update ya'll on his 2 month appointment. Jake is now 24 3/4 inches long and weighed in at a whopping 12 lbs. 9 ozs. However last week he was up to 13 lbs. 3 ozs. This child is growing like a weed. He is gonna be 6 feet tall before I know it. I will post pictures next week once I take his 3 month pictures. I can't believe that is already here. If I don't talk to you all before have a fun and safe Thanksgiving and try not to eat too much

Jake had his 1st Halloween. He was a pumpkin. He went trick or treating at his grandparents house and then his cousin stoped by and visited him and he thoroughly enjoyed himself.

So this is Daniel's favorite picture so far of Jacob.

1 Month Old

So he is 1 month old now and is just perfect. At his 3 week checkup he had already grown to 22 3/4 inches and weighed 9 lbs. 11 ozs. The Dr. said he is easily going to be 6 feet or more. He also said he is going to be a high maintenance babe because the only time he is happy (and quiet) is when he is being held. I will post more when I have both hands to type with...

17 Days old

So Jacob is 17 days old now and wow am I exhausted. He has such a wonderful personality that is starting to come out. Every day he does something new. His favorite thing to do is sleep on his daddy's tummy (which he is doing right now). I will post more once I upload pics. It will probably be Tuesday after his doctors appointment when I have more to report.

The End is in Sight....

Well the Doctors appointment this morning was interesting to say the least. No change of course still 1cm 70% effaced. However we are inducing Tuesday morning. I will go in on Monday to start the whole process. So we definitely will have Jacob here by Tuesday afternoon or sooner. We are very excited. Daniel got a new camera today so we will have plenty of pictures to post when he gets here.

39 Week U/S Photos

So here are the pictures that they gave us on Friday. I know he looks smushy but that is because he doesn't have anymore room and is pushed up against my belly. I am hoping that he will come out soon. I am starting to get a little impatient. I will let you all know as soon as something changes though I promise.

39 Week Appointment

So I am at 39 weeks exactly today and I had a Dr. app. Needless to say it wasn't great. I have made no additional progress. I seem to have stalled at 1cm and 70% effacement. The Dr. did say however that he won't let me go that much longer. If Jacob isn't here by my due date (next Friday) then we can start talking about inductions. The good thing about my app today is that we got an ultrasound. He looks so much like Daniel its scary. They could be the same baby. Jacob is measuring 7lbs 12 ozs, which is why the Dr. won't let me go to far over. He is worried that he will get to big. I will post the pics as soon as I scan them into the computer on Monday unless i'm at L & D. Hope everyone has a good weekend and sorry this is so long.

So it is down to the final days and I figured I should post this last pic of how big baby has gotten in my belly. I will try to take a picture tonight of the belly so that you will have something to compare it to.

Full Term Today Woo Hoo!!!!!

So today we are officially at full term (37 weeks). I had a Dr.s appointment yesterday and he said that nothing has really changed since last week with the exception of my blood pressure being slightly elevated and the swelling returning. He told me to take it easy and try not to do as much as I have been doing so that my feet can rest. He also told me that they would not stop labor if and when it starts that they would just let me go. So I guess that is a good thing. Anyways hopefully I will have some more news next week. I go back to the Dr. on Thursday. Oh yeah our anniversary is also next week so that is something to look forward to. I will also try to post an updated belly shot when I get a chance to take one. I have been slacking lately.

Doc visit Friday

So I had a Drs. visit on Friday and she said that everything looked good. I am 1 cm dilated and 70% effaced and that Jacob is sitting very low now. (Which explains the brand new stretch marks on my lower belly) She said that he could come now or later that it could really be anytime and no more travel until he gets here. I go to apps. every week now so I will see the last Dr. in the practice on Thurs. then back to my regular Dr. I have been having a few contractions but nothing too major. I will update again later this week on the new status.

35/35

So today we are 35 weeks with an estimated 35 days to go. Corny I know but it is kinda neat. Just thought I would share. I am looking forward to my appointment next Friday so that I can find out just how big this little guy is. Other than that there is really nothing new to report except I have started to swell up like the staypuff marshmellow man. I am hoping that will go away soon.

How big is baby update

So we are at 34 weeks now. Jacob is growing about a 1/2 a pound a week. The Dr. said yesterday that he still appears to be measuring on the larger side. He said everything looked good and we go back again in another 2 weeks.

Doc visit yesterday

Had an appointment yesterday and Dr. said that everything was going great. Now we go every two weeks instead of every four. He said that Jake is measuring on the higher end of average. Yippee for mommy! He also said that he was locked and loaded and that it was unlikly that he would change positions again. Therefore he didn't see any reason why I wouldn't make it all the way through August. Jake is currently doing a headstand on my bladder which means no heartburn for me, just the constant running to the bathroom every five minutes for nothing. We are going to go to the lake on Saturday so I will try to post some pics when we get back. Happy 4th to everyone if we don't get a chance to see or talk to ya. Have fun!!!

Baby Size

So since everyone was wondering how much Jake weighed and how big he is right now I figured I would give you this little chart for comparison. This is our 32nd week and last week of month 7 so we are on the higher end of the numbers.

Party in the Belly

So lately I have decided that I like to dance and party at all hours of the day and night. It has been driving mommy crazy. She can no longer sleep at night. To top it off I am getting so big that once she sits down she can't get up because I have made her tummy so big. I will try to get her to put a picture of it on here soon. Other than that everything is going good. She did rearrange my room again but I think that is just her nesting thing that they always talk about kicking in.

Nothing interesting this week

Well there is really nothing interesting to report this week. I did move up in mommy's tummy for a couple of days making it pretty hard on her. She hates the heartburn. I have since, however, returned to my little trampoline (her bladder) my favorite place to hang out. I think she prefers me down here also. Daddy has been incredibly busy at work but thats ok I don't mind. Now if mommys back pain will go away everything will be honky dorry again. Maybe next week I will have more going on. I am 29 weeks or 7 months old today so I guess that is something.

4D U/S Pictures

So Yesterday we went and got his 3D/4D pictures taken. He was not very cooperative at first. The first time the tech tried he had his foot in front of his face kicking himself in the head, silly goose. The 2nd time she tried he had his hand in front of his face and was pushing against my belly smushing his face. The 3rd time was a charm though. He started cooperating beautifully. We got some great pictures. Daniel and I are soooo excited we can't wait for August.

The Crib Mattress

So this past Saturday Daniel and I went to Huffmans and we finally purchased the crib mattress. I had been researching mattresses for months and had 2 picked out that I liked. Huffmans is the only place that carries them btw. So off Daniel and I go we must have spent 30 minutes in the store. Once I was there I could not make up my mind on foam or coil. Daniel eventually told me just to pick one and lets go. So we bought the Colgate Ultra II 150 coil mattress for those that are interested. Daniel promises me that he would help me with it if it gets to heavy for me. (weight was my dilema the whole time). So his room is officially complete. I will post pictures as soon as I upload them from the camera.

Thursday is Jakes big closeup. We are going to get the 3D/4D ultrasound pictures taken. I am really excited and I think that Daniel is too. Jane and my mom are also going to go. They cry everytime. In the mean time here are all of his other ultrasound pictures to tide you over...

Ok so we have tentativly named the munchkin Jacob Lewis(hence the title) if it changes then I will obviously change the blog title.  So we have finished the nursery or baby's room and I will post pictures once I have a chance to take them. Daniel did most of the work. I just watched, of course. This is what his bedding looks like. The walls are painted light green and the whole thing matches perfectly

Our First Post

Ok so I am completely new to this whole blogging thing but I thought that I would give it a try as a way to let everyone know whats going on without having to retell 100 times.  Most of the entries are of course going to be about Jacob but I will also include things that are going on in other aspects of our lives as well.  So here we go.................
